3 Ways To Get Ready For House Painters

Posted on: 21 July 2017

If you are getting ready to have the outside of your house professionally painted, you may want to do what you can to make it easier for the house painters to do their job. The easier their job is, the quicker it will get done, and the quicker your house will look good.

Remove Things

You are going to want to make sure that you remove anything that's attached to the side of your house. That includes things like shutters, house numbers, decorations, etc. If you are worried about losing screws to your shutters, there is an easy way to handle that. You can use something like masking tape to tape each shutter pair together, put their screws in a reusable sandwich bag, close it, and tape it to the pair of shutters. You can also label which shutter pair went to which window by writing it on the tape. That way, when you are ready to put it back on, you can just grab the shutters, and everything you need will be right there.

Clean Up

While the painters are doing work on your house, you want to make sure that they are able to do their work safely. To that end, you want to make sure that you clean up the area around your house so that they can work there and put up ladders, as necessary. So, make sure that you move your trash cans, BBQ grills, and other items away from the house. You will also want to make sure that there aren't large sticks, rocks, or anything else that may cause the painters to trip and fall or for the ladder to be less than steady. And finally, if you have a dog, make sure that your yard is nice and clear of any animal byproducts. You don't want to step in it, and neither do the painters.

Write Warnings

If you have plants in your yard and garden that may hurt the painters or that are very expensive, you will want to make sure that you warn them about those particular places. One way you can do that is to write out a list of what the plants they need to watch out for, as well as where they are. On top of that, you may want to take the painters and show them the plants, just to be extra careful.

You want your house to look as good as possible, and getting the outside painted can do that. Make sure that you are ready for the painters to come.
